Graduates of The School of Social Justice receive a rigorous, personalized education that meets Common Core and university requirements while emphasizing inquiry-based instruction and critical thinking. Service learning is central to the curriculum, empowering students to take ownership of their education and develop a lifelong commitment to learning. Each semester, students engage in projects that deepen their understanding of social justice and human rights, amplifying their voices and choices while applying 21st-century skills like communication and collaboration to real-world issues.

Classrooms utilize Equitable Grading and Instruction (EGI) to foster an inclusive learning environment with clear learning targets and a growth mindset, ensuring all students can succeed with the right support. Instruction is interdisciplinary, emphasizing real-world connections through Project-Based Learning (PBL) and Community-Based Learning (CBL). Teachers invite collaboration with both students and caregivers, ensuring that families are partners in the learning process.

The School of Social Justice teaches students the importance of organization as it applies to both the school community and larger movements for justice. Students at Social Justice learn to organize to become active leaders and collaborators deeply engaged in the community. As a school, we believe that meaningful reflection and collaboration are necessary to affect lasting positive social change. Community organizing is demonstrated through shared decision-making power, real-world classroom curriculum, and building interpersonal connections. Caregivers are included as partners, providing opportunities for meaningful collaboration in school and community initiatives.
